Center Nick Richards has agreed to terms on a multiyear extension with the Charlotte Hornets, the team announced.

The Hornets did not disclose terms of the deal, but his agents Javon Phillips and Jared Mucha of Excel Basketball told ESPN that Richards’ deal is for three years and worth $15 million.

Richards, a player development revelation under Charlotte coach Steve Clifford, was extension eligible until June 30 and now avoids going into restricted free agency this summer. He’s averaged career highs of 7.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 18 minutes a game.

Richards, 25, has averaged 9.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in the past five games for Charlotte. He was the 42nd overall pick out of Kentucky in the 2020 NBA draft.

CAMPUS VISITS AND TOURS

The Patrick School invites you to visit the campus for a tour and also to join us as a Student For The Day. During the current academic year, we will have grades 7 through 12, so prospective students and transfers from grades 6 through 11 are welcome.

If you would like to visit, please contact Guidance/Admissions at 908-545-1073 to schedule an appointment.

All prospective students must complete an interview.

FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIPS

The Patrick School takes great pride in offering financial assistance to all students and their families based on need. Students choose The Patrick School for many reasons, including our comprehensive academic program, our familial and caring community, our nationally recognized basketball program, our extracurricular clubs and activities as well as our college entrance assistance opportunities. We work hard to maintain an affordable tuition by implementing an aggressive development campaign to acquire funds from outside sources as well as offering families a monthly payment plan to help them to manage their tuition payments. In some cases, a family’s financial situation, based on annual income, is such that the tuition cost remains beyond their monetary capability. In these cases, The Patrick School offers financial aid packages and scholarships to make it possible for needy students to attend our school.

There are several scholarship and financial aid opportunities for students applying to The Patrick School. After an application is completed, families who feel they have a financial need can meet with the Admissions Director to discuss qualifying for financial assistance options. While we make every attempt to meet all demonstrated financial needs, we have limited funds available for tuition assistance. For this reason, we strongly encourage families with students interested in financial assistance or scholarships to apply at the earliest date possible. Whether a family is seeking financial assistance or not, enrollment for all qualified students in The Patrick School is based on a “first come first served basis.” Because available seats fill up quickly, early enrollment is strongly recommended to better assure that your student will get a seat.

STUDENT FOR A DAY

The Patrick School is a very special, close-knit learning community. The best way for a prospective student to understand what makes this place so unique is to experience this first-hand as a Student For The Day.

  • To schedule an appointment, contact the Admissions Director by phone or email to set up your visit.
  • Prospective students will be placed with a host and experience a full day of classes.
  • Visiting students should dress professionally and bring a notebook (in the event that they choose to take notes on the interesting topics discussed in our courses).
  • Parents should drop the student off at 8:45am and pick them up at 2:20pm. This would also be an ideal time for a parent to receive a tour of the school and ask any questions.
